But his beloved peaceful countryside mansion could soon turn into a spot “crawling with police,” revealed the source.
And the reason represents yet another challenge for the Duke. A “cash for honours” investigation has begun into Michael Fawcett, who is Prince Charles’ “right-hand man, added the insider.

Moreover, the royal family source revealed that the reasons for the investigation stun onlookers. According to this insider, Fawcett faces accusations of “securing a CBE for a Saudi business contact in exchange for donations to The Prince’s Foundation.”
These charges reportedly hit hard for Prince Charles, who has enjoyed a close relationship with Fawcett since the 1980s.
But could the investigation also involve the Duke?
“It doesn’t look good for Charles, who has been incredibly close with Fawcett since the 1980s – though he has indicated he will cooperate with authorities,” added the source.

Summing up the current situation, the royal family source added, “The people around Charles are dropping like flies.” That summation refers to the allegedly sudden exit of the Duke’s communications secretary Julian Payne.
Payne reportedly “walked out” on Prince Charles after getting credit for improving the Duke’s falling levels of popularity.
Rumors point to Payne heading to the position of Chair of Corporate Affairs EMEA at the Edelman PR firm.
