The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) is not going through a phase. He wants scheduled time with his biological child. That creates a dilemma for Abby Newman Abbott Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) and the man Devon said he recognizes as Dominic Newman Abbott Chancellor (no baby actor’s name known for this role) father.
Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) understands where Devon is coming from because of a conversation they had. Admitting that he was struggling, Chance now realizes that his vulnerability is apparent and is impacting the decisions family members and friends are making in his regard.

Devon’s heartfelt comments about his childhood, not knowing his biological father until later in life, and Neil Winters’ (played by the late, great Kristoff St. John) life-altering influence set the foundation for the change in perspective.
Chance was gone for months, with no return date available. That gap was partially filled by Devon being far more involved with his longtime friend Abby than normally would have been true. Chance gets that and knows that Devon wants what is best for all involved.
Then, Ben Stitch Rayburn (Sean Carrigan) was oddly written back into the show. He was devolved to a kidnapper, with a somewhat thin explanation about his mental health state pushing that part of the plot. The result led to Devon delivering Dom, which forged an immeasurable bond.

Devon’s admission and request stunned Abby more than it did Chance. She trusted James’ character implicitly. So, his desire to amend their agreement naturally bothers her.
Chance explained that his absences, recovering mental state, and future return to a dangerous line of work combined to make Devon very uneasy. So, it is not that Dom’s donor is trying to take control or advantage.
But Abby has not reacted like Chance. She feels that Devon is not only uncertain about Chance but also about her ability to raise Dom.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Chance Chancellor Forced To Adjust
As Chance described it, his mission went horribly wrong. He was gone far longer than he anticipated, lost his team members, and has had a rough time readjusting to family life in Genoa City, Wisconsin.
Chance and Abby do not know how everyone will be affected if they agree to Devon’s request. Also, how will Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) respond if Devon gains regular time with Dom and she does not?
Of course, it is reasonable to wonder if Devon has legal grounds as well?
