The Young And The Restless – Irizarry Suffers Massive Concussion

Fans may recall that the actor, who played the role of David Chow, in the daytime drama, had to undergo emergency surgery following a traumatic head injury. He was knocked to the ground after he stepped in between a couple who were arguing in a restaurant parking lot in December.

The actor hit his head, which resulted in a massive concussion. He had fluid in his brain, which led to a hematoma, a condition that had to be operated on immediately. His doctors had to relieve the pressure in his brain following the incident. It’s been more than a month since he had the operation and thankfully, he’s doing much better now.

Y&R Spoilers – Vincent Irizarry’s Recovery Going Exceptionally Well

In an Instagram post, the actor posted a photo of a computerized tomography scan, which showed how his brain looked in the second week of April. The actor explained that his latest CT scan was “completely different” from the one he had before he had his surgery on March 11.

“My brain [was] being forced over to the left side of my skull, the existing, sizable hematoma that had developed putting significant pressure on my brain, with the very real potential of initiating a seizure, a stroke, or even death at any given moment,” the actor said.

Irizarry continued to say that according to his neurologist, his brain now looks the way it’s supposed to be, which means his “healing process is going exceptionally well.”

The actor thanked Dr. Jared Ament for being an amazing and exceptionally skilled surgeon. His neurosurgeon was able to address all of his concerns and showcased his impeccable skills in addressing his medical emergency. He’s extremely grateful for everything he’s done.
