General Hospital spoilers and comings and goings reveal that soap legend and fan favorite Michael E. Knight is headed to Port Charles.
Michael E. Knight is well known among soap opera fans, and has appeared on more than one daytime drama. Knight started his soap opera career in 1982 in the iconic role of Tad Martin on All My Children. He appeared on and off from 1982-2013. He also crossed over as Tad on cancelled soap One Life To Live.
In 2015 Michael E. Knight made his soapy comeback on CBS soap The Young and the Restless as Dr. Simon Neville, he was paired up with fan fave Ashley Abbott [Eileen Davidson], and involved in a few big storylines before his last appearance in 2016.
All My Children Star Joins General Hospital
According to General Hospital spoilers, Knight has joined the cast of the ABC soap opera, however there’s no news on what character he will be playing. In the past General Hospital has done a few crossovers and brought One Life To Live and All My Children characters to Port Charles. So, will Tad Martin be arriving on GH or is it a new character entirely?
Of course, there are several former OLTL and AMC stars on General Hospital now, including Knight’s pal James Patrick Stuart. James Patrick Stuart dished to Soap Opera Digest regarding Knight’s big casting news, “I am thrilled, are you kidding me? I love that guy. He’s excited, too; it’s been a while for him. It’s going to be really fun to have him on my turf. I would love to share scenes with him.”

Who Will Michael E. Knight Be Playing On General Hospital?
As of right now there are some big storylines in the works, including Shiloh Archer’s neverending Dawn of Day saga and Billy Miller’s character Drew Cain’s looming exit. Michael E. Knight’s arrival could tie in to either of those things. Or perhaps he will play a doctor again, and help out Sonny and Carly Corinthos with their pregnancy.

He was the only reason I watched All my Children. I just hope he doesn’t play a bad guy, like when they ruined James DePiva when he was on. Of course these writers are experts at taken great actors from other soaps and then giving them nothing to work with…..And I have to add, they better not kill off Drew. I have hopes that maybe down the line they will realize what a mess they made of Billy Miller’s character and hire him back.

Love Michael Knight! Would love to see him enter Port Charles as Tad Martin as he would have a lot of history to draw on. However, it will be great to see him join the cast as any new character.
If Billy Miller leaves GH many fans will be very disappointed. I’m one of them. Many people watch the show because of this wonderful charismatic actor! Please listen to the fans GH!

Agreed. The last former OLTL cast member to join the cast of GH – James De Paiva was used for a horrible character – the doctor who harassed Kiki. It would have been much better if he had been cast as a regular and a doctor that could have been a catch for one of the single women on GH. Have always loved Michael Knight it will be good to see him again and hopefully in a role that will be accepted by viewers.
I’m glad to see Michael Knight back. I hope he doesn’t play a doctor that we see only now and then. He deserves a roll that will be front and center. Give him something to sink his teeth into. He’s a great actor!
I am so excited to find this out. I met him years ago at a soap award ceremony and he was just the best and friendly guy. I couldn’t possibly wish him any more thoughts, good wishes and prayers. However, don’t make him a lame character like what happened to Jim DePaiva….

I’d like to see Michael Knight play a major lead role on GH. Someone that they can build a history on or tie his character Tad’s history with would work. His character meeting someone like Ava or Liesl and a courtship/love affair happen to hold the audience captive. Please utilize the talent of this exceptional actor and please take advantage of his comedic abilities,
Don’t kill Drew either!!! Bring Drew back with an excellent storyline and a dominant member of the Quartermaine family and not the step child with a boring/average storyline.

Yes, yes, yes. Whoever he ends up playing, I hope the character has Tad’s sense of humor. Michael plays funny very well, but he’s a bit stiff when he plays a serious character.
