General Hospital spoilers taunt Officer Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) was looking forward to granting that deal with Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) in exchange for information on who he has been working for — Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober).

That was a major move for Austin, and he knew the risk he was taking in even going to the PCPD and asking for anonymity.

He probably should have known better that Cyrus would have him followed — or at very least, that Mason Gatlin (Nathanyael Grey) would.

Now, Austin is dead and Ava Jerome (Maura West) will have to live with the consequences of that — including Dante’s attention being fixed on her as he becomes convinced she’s the key that can unlock the mystery of Austin’s death and much more.

General Hospital Spoilers — Austin Wanted to Tell the Truth

It’s going to tear Dante up inside that a presumably good man — and doctor — is dead because he couldn’t grant him the deal he needed soon enough.

Even so, had Austin been able to reveal that information to Dante, he likely would’ve gone home and been killed in cold blood just the same.

Now they’ll never know, and this case may never be solved if Austin was the only good soldier willing to step up to the plate and name the guy who is pulling all the strings.

GH Spoilers Claim Ava’s Reaction Will Say a Lot

Dante is going to be taken aback by Ava’s response to the news that Austin is dead — and even more so to her reaction to the news that he wanted to come clean.

That could have saved her from harm once again, and it may only then dawn on Ava that Austin had been telling the truth.

He really did have feelings for her, and he was always trying to protect her — albeit in his own way that left her feeling betrayed and toyed with.

Nevertheless, her emotional reaction, surprise, and recoil will leave Dante wondering just how much Ava knows that she isn’t letting on.

General Hospital Spoilers — Dante Gets Down to Business

Dante knows Ava well, and that might give him a leg up in this fight. He doesn’t want any harm to come to her or his little sister.

He could stress that whoever is behind all of this has already taken care of Austin, and it may only be a matter of time before they come for her. But Ava is bound to be just as scared to open her mouth since it seems that is what got Austin axed.

Little does she know, it may not have been Cyrus who pulled that trigger – or his henchman. It’s still possible that her ex-husband, Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss), is back and out for blood.
