Hallmark Mystery has announced two new, original movies premiering in August. Meanwhile, both Sleuthers and Hearties will be thrilled as one movie features a When Calls the Heart onscreen couple, Pascale Hutton and Kavan Smith.

Moreover, Rachel Starsten stars in another mystery movie with Corey Sevier. Read on to find out what we know so far about these two mystery movies coming in August.

Hallmark Mystery announces two new mystery movies

Jazz Ramsey: A K-9 Mystery

Starring: Rachel Skarsten and Corey Sevier

Premiere date: Friday, August 2, at 9 pm ET/PT on Hallmark Mystery

According to TV Insider, the plot is as follows:

When Jazz Ramsey and her crime detection dog, Zeus, stumble upon an old crime scene, the K-9 trainer, her star pup, and ex-boyfriend and lead detective Nick are thrown into the investigation.

Nelly Knows Mysteries (working title)

Starring: Pascale Hutton, Kavan Smith, Sarah Grey and Julian Haig

Premiere date: Friday, August 23, at 9 p.m., ET/PT on Hallmark Mystery

Plot:

An unusual letter arrives at Nelly’s office but she recognizes the handwriting. The letter is from her childhood friend, Dahlia. Dahlia tells Nelly in the letter that her boyfriend, Blake, has been cheating on her. Meanwhile, Nelly decides to do her own investigation and she visits Blake, the allegedly unfaithful boyfriend.

 When she arrives, Nelly discovers the dead body of Dahlia’s boyfriend and now her childhood BFF is the main suspect. Now, Nelly must prove that Dahlia is innocent and she finds herself working with a new detective, Michael, to try to discover who killed Blake.

What else is happening with mystery movies?

Hallmark star Stephen Huszar recently announced that he and Jodie Sweetin have filmed four new Jane Mysteries, but when will they be released?

Moreover, fans have been waiting for an Aurora Teagarden reboot sequel since Candace Cameron Bure jumped ship to Great American Family. Rumors of other movies are doing the rounds including another Hannah Swensen movie.

Hopefully, several new mystery films will be released before the Miracles of Christmas programming event starts in October. However, with the latest news, Sleuthers should at least be treated to the four new Jane Mysteries in the meantime.
