Adam’s latest revenge scheme against his dad wasn’t exactly his idea, believe it or not. It’s true that he was floating ideas about how to sink the titan, but it was Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) who gave his the ammunition, in fact, she was gleeful about the chance to take Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) down, something she had been ambivalent in the past.

What changed? It simply seems that Chelsea caught the vengeance bug from Adam. As fans know she utterly surprised him when she suddenly told him she was on board with his plans to make Victor pay for not giving him the CEO job at Newman Enterprises.

The Young and the Restless Spoilers – Chelsea Lawson Seems To Have Been Infected By Adam Newman’s Deep Desire To Wreak Vengeance On Victor Newman

This discussion took place on a couch in Kansas where they had gone to lick their wounds and for Adam to mull over his options. All these years Adam never gave it another thought but Chelsea gave it at least three thoughts before deciding that Victor had killed Alyssa’s dad and covered it up. She apparently was right on the money since Adam uses this bombshell intel to force Victor to make him CEO.

Later, Adam uses the damning info to blackmail Victor and Chelsea could not be more delighted that Adam taunted that he could send Victor to prison for life.

In the end, it came as no surprise that Victor de-installed Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and installed Adam as CEO.
