TLC 90 Day Fiance star Colt Johnson is back with the franchise in Happily Ever After? Just like before, his story includes his inappropriately close relationship with his mommy, Debbie Johnson. For the first time, we saw Colt stand up for himself and his new romance. However, does Debbie need her own man so she can be on the show without piggybacking on her son?

Fans watched in horror and shock as Colt and Larissa dos Santos Lima’s marriage didn’t have a chance. Let’s just ignore the fact for a moment that Larissa is a bit crazy and Colt’s a creep. Even if these two were perfectly normal human beings, the relationship still would have crumbled because of Colt’s mother. No marriage can survive a mother interfering that much.

Mother/Son Relationship Too Close

90 Day Fiance fans can’t help but wonder about how close this mother and son really are. It’s understandable to be close to a parent, but they seem to go way overboard. They are addicted to each other and it’s surprising they don’t accompany each other to the bathroom. Colt can’t make a single decision or do anything without his mother’s approval. On the rare occasion that he does make a decision, his mother is right there barking in his ear or hopping on a plane to be with him every second.

During the last episode of the TLC reality show, Debbie decided she had enough of Jess Caroline’s family asking questions and went to leave. However, it was a shock to her when Colt didn’t leave with her. He told her that she would be fine and it seemed that he had finally grown a spine.

Debbie Johnson Needs Her Own Man

It seems that Debbie doesn’t really have a life of her own so she lives life through her son. However, he is a grown man and has to make his own decisions. Perhaps she needs to find her own man and get her own TLC TV show! Can you imagine the drama, chaos, and theatrics? It is possibly the only way that this mother and son will cut the umbilical cord and have a normal parent/child relationship.
