General Hospital (GH) spoilers say that if there’s anything we’ve learned about Ava Jerome (Maura West) and Nikolas Cassadine’s (Marcus Coloma) relationship is that when things are great, they are really great but when things are bad, they are really bad. Just when things were starting to look up for the on-again, off-again General Hospital couple, their Valentine’s Day hits quite a snag in the form of an unwelcome gift. Here’s what you need to know.

General Hospital Spoilers – Ava Jerome And Nikolas Cassadine Are Hit With A New Mystery

Speaking to Soap Opera Digest spoilers in a new interview, actor Marcus Coloma, who plays Nikolas Cassadine on the hit ABC soap, says that they begin their date with the exciting enthusiasm that you would expect from them now that their relationship has finally crossed that level where they are both comfortable and secure with one another. However, the mood dips when a gift for Ava shows up at their table.

General Hospital’s Marcus puts it this way, “At first, Nikolas assumes it’s the gift he’s gotten for her. The way I had it in my mind was that when he picked out the gift, he didn’t wrap it. But when Ava opens it, it’s not the bracelet Nik purchases for her – it’s something quite gruesome, and their shared concern deepens when a creepy note arrives later.”

General Hospital spoilers say that of course, Ava is freaked out. Plus, it’s been a long struggle for these two to get to the place that they are right now, yet it looks like this surprise gift might bring them two steps back rather than one step forward, as they expected to do this Valentine’s Day holiday. With that said though, it looks like Nikolas is willing to do whatever it takes to make things work with Ava.

Marcus added, “He feels such a strong love for Ava. He understands what she’s been through and gone through, including just losing her brother, which was very traumatic for her.”
