Meghan Markle, Duchess Of Sussex Quitting Social Media – 5 Reasons It Is A Good Thing

Meghan MarkleBritish Royal family news reveals Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex has recently revealed that she hasn’t been on social media in several long months and quite frankly, she doesn’t miss it at all. In fact, the Duchess of Sussex hinted that she can certainly see herself living her life without Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and everyone else’s favorite apps that supposedly help us connect better. With that said, here are five reasons why Meghan quitting social media is actually a good thing.

#1 Meghan Markle No Longer Has To Deal With The Trolls

Let’s face it: one of the biggest downsides to having open social media accounts is the fact that you have Internet trolls watching your each and every move, while also criticizing everything you do with complete negativity. For Meghan Markle, she finally realized that the stress of dealing with her online critics every day just wasn’t worth it.

#2 The Pressure To Keep Up Appearances

It’s been said that when it comes to social media, people often just show their “highlights reel.” But if there’s something that we already know, it’s that life is full of highlights and lowlights. It’s hard to keep up certain appearances, especially if you don’t always feel that way.

#3 Social Media And Family Competition

At one point, it seemed like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s social media account was trying to compete or at least keep up with that of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s. Of course, no one knows if the Sussex’s and Cambridge’s competitive nature spilled over to their online profiles, but according to fans, they did believe that the royals were trying to compete with each other in terms of who can outdo whom, and how many social media followers each account had.

#4 Less Stress On Everyday Life

Meghan is one of few celebrities that has realized deleting social media has reduced the amount of stress on her everyday life. She doesn’t have to worry about clout anymore, or keeping up with her account and numbers or even the aesthetic of it. She has time now to focus on other things, like her foundation and charitable projects.

#5 An Opportunity To Find A New Outlet To Promote, Post, And Connect

There’s been some speculation that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are looking to find a new outlet to promote, post, and connect with their fans. Some believe that they might use their new $150 million dollar deal with Netflix as a new platform to connect with the world.

Should that be the case, then there’s a very good chance that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle might be one of the first in the celebrity world to go against the social media site, so to speak. Watch this space as we have a feeling there is so much more to come from the Sussexes!
