Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Deeply Concerned After Netflix DecisionRoyal Family news reveals a claim that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were “deeply concerned” following a decision made by the streaming giant Netflix. Read on and we’ll give you the low down.

Royal Family News: Source Claims Sussexes Called All-Hands Meeting

Royal family news reveals that Netflix’s decision to nix Archewell Productions’ first animated series, Pearl, reportedly as part of a series of cost-cutting measures sent shockwaves through the Sussex’s, reports Express UK.

The Sussexes, according to a source that is being called an Archewell insider, called for “all-hands” at a meeting amid news of the cancellation announced in May of this year. As recently reported by The Ankler, the source said, “Harry and Meghan called an all-hands meeting. They were deeply concerned about the optics of this. Meghan wanted to talk to Ted [Sarandos, co-CEO of Netflix].” It is, however, worth noting that another source denied the meeting had an emergency undertone.

Prince Harry, Where Are The Goods?

Also worth noting is that until Archewell hit the air on Tuesday, the word from the entertainment industry had been in the form of a question: where are the goods? To that point, the Sussex’s Spotify deal, to the tune of $25 million, had only produced a single Christmas episode.

The duke and duchess’s Netflix deal, signed in 2020 and reportedly valued at $100 million has yet to produce any movies, television shows, or documentaries.

So Many Deals, So Little Production

Archwell Productions, the powerhouse created by the Sussexes last year, is reportedly dedicated to creating Netflix content. Pearl was to be one of those projects. The cancelation, which occurred amid a dip in subscribers experienced by the streaming giant, appears not to have affected other productions.

The Sussex’s docuseries, Heart of Invictus will focus on the prince’s Invictus Games as athletes prepared for the event which took place in April last year. It was announced in April 2020 that Harry and Meghan had signed the Netflix deal but, to date, the couple has yet to release a completed product.

    Sussexes Aren’t Alone

Pearl’s demise demonstrated just how dramatically things have changed at Netflix as well as Hollywood in just a few months. Netflix suffered a reported $60 billion drop in market value in a single day in April and apparently, the entire entertainment industry is being dragged down the same rabbit hole.

Netflix isn’t the only victim of the ratings bug; Warner Bros. Discovery is also cutting everything from Batgirl to J.J. Abrams Batman project – a $500 million deal whose loss is believed to be a source of grief for CEO David Zaslav who reportedly inherited the project.

    1. Poor megs and harry, imagine getting 100 million dollar deal with Netflix and then having to give something in return?? same with Spotify; if you’re going to sell your self as big money, then you’re going to have to produce big money. Imagine all those people who would like even a sliver of that money who already have scripts in their hand! You won’t hear me crying for them
