CBS The Young and the Restless spoilers have stunning news to report, Donny Boaz who plays Chance Chancellor in Genoa City, Wisconsin has tested positive for COVID-19 and the role must be recast.

Filling in for Boaz is soap alum Justin Gaston who also just happens to be married to Y&R star Melissa Ordway (Abby Newman) who is involved onscreen with Chance Chancellor.

Following Donny Boaz’s testing positive for the coronavirus he shared the news with his fans.

Boaz wrote on Instagram; “I have a little news to share. A few weeks ago, I tested positive for COVID 19. Thankfully, I did not have any symptoms. In the following guidelines, I quarantined at home so you may not see me on Y&R for a bit. I’m happy to say I’ve returned to work and will be back on the air very soon. Thank you for your continued support.”

Y&R Spoilers – Justin Gaston Fills In As Chance Chancellor After Donny Boaz Tests Positive For COVID-19

Gaston previously starred on Days of our Lives in 2014 as the original Ben Weston, a role now played by Robert Scott Wilson. You can expect to see Gaston on-screen as Chance beginning next week on the November 23rd episode.

Gaston is an American singer-songwriter, model, and actor who was on Nashville Star on season 6. He was born in Pineville, Louisiana, and attended Pineville High School where he competed in track and field.

Gaston married Y&R’s Melissa Ordway on September 22, 2012. In 2016, Gaston and Ordway adopted their first child, a daughter named Olivia. The happy couple gave birth to their second daughter, Sophie, on December 9, 2017.

Chance is currently recovering from having taken a bullet for his buddy Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) who also happens to be Abby’s brother. He is also a detective on the GCPD payroll so finding out who tried to shoot Adam will likely be part of his assignment.

At this time Chance and Abby have a serious relationship going on and plan to marry and have a bumper crop of kids. First, they will have to get past her business wranglings and his recovery though. So Y&R fans what do you think of the new casting news?
