In December of 2020, Donny Boaz, who portrayed Chance Chancellor announced that he was recovering from COVID-19. When his character married Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) on New Year’s Eve, Ordway’s husband, Justin Gaston was a stand-in. Y&R announced in February that Boaz had been fired and would not be replaced. Many viewers said they hoped Gaston would be hired but he was not.

Chance continues to go deeper undercover and does not know his son has been born. Spoilers keep suggesting this character will be recast even though Y&R has not indicated this to be true. Until further notice fans should pay attention to what the storyline is revealing.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Devon Hamilton And Mariah Copeland May Hold The Key
On Tuesday, neither Abby nor Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) could stop Dominic Chancellor (a blanket at this point) from crying. As soon as he was placed in Devon’s arms, the baby immediately calmed down. Dom’s birth mom is dealing with emotional issues but his bio dad seems to be embracing fatherhood. Y&R could be about to kill Chance off or have him MIA, and Abby and Devon parent the child together.
Y&R Spoilers – Dominic’s Future Is Uncertain
There is much uncertainty surrounding Dominic’s future. Spoilers tease that the pressure could be too great, and Mariah and Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) move out of the Chancellor home and possibly leave Genoa City. This would result in Abby and Devon co-parenting and possibly falling in love. If Chance does eventually return to Genoa City he may find he has lost both his wife and his son.

That would not be a good story line. You need to bring Chance back her real husband would be a good choice
Bring back Chance…he's perfect for the part
Given the strange situation in which DB was fired, just after time off from suffering from covid! I don't think it would be very nice to replace him with actresses actual husband, seems way too convenient. I wish the block of wood in the blanket would now just go away. Half expecting Devon to pull out his whittling knife and produce Chucky. This story turned from promising to a sniveling mess. Devon and Mariah deserve better. This just proves you need a good actress to hold a story together, Abby was a total disaster, she was as compelling as that wooden baby.
